It was our tradition at our small church to sing "Happy Birthday" to the members of our congregation on their special day. Our pastor always added his own verse to the end of the traditional song. He always sang with gusto, "and we wish you many more." My son, an innocent four year old at the time, had attended our church for as long as he could remember and knew the entire group by first name. One Sunday, after the song and applause had ended, he looked up at me and demanded, Just who is Minnie Moore!" The church got a good giggle and I can't help to think of our "honorary" member every time we sing Happy Birthday.
